Sing Coco through cancer

  • St. Andrews United Church 315 Fitzwilliam Street Nanaimo, BC, V9R 3A6 Canada (map)

Let’s raise our voices together in support of beloved Canadian singer-songwriter, choir leader, and mother Coco Love Alcorn, who has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. She has embarked on a long treatment journey with extensive travel, and will need all the support we can give, both financially and in spirit.

Special guests Tom Arntzen, Kim Bothen, Sylvia Wende and Rebekah Demirel, as well as host Sylvia Humble, will lead Coco’s songs of strength, hope, and resilience, accompanied on percussion by April Laurie. Join with others whose hearts and lives have been moved by Coco’s music, to sing her songs and send her our collective healing intentions and our faith that her strength and vitality will prevail.

Community singing will start at 4:00 until 5:30, followed by a potluck for those who would like to stay and share stories (bring a dish to share; we have access to a full kitchen)

Cash donations will go directly to Coco, or you can donate through her GoFundMe campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/f/SupportCocoThroughCancer (there you can also read more details about her journey).

Here are some of Coco’s songs we’ll sing - feel free to email me with other requests, and I’ll see what I can figure out on my ukulele or looper!

Paper lyrics will be provided, reserved for those who cannot use their phone to get lyrics… especially if there is a big turnout.
