I’m thrilled to present beloved songwriter and songleader Sarina Partridge, who will lead us in a joyful, immersive, nature-inspired community singing workshop, on Saturday, July 19, at the beautiful Bowen Park Amphitheatre. Having participated in Sarina’s workshops and hosted her Heartwood Trio, I can attest to her engaging, accessible, teaching style, and the truly connective community singing experience she creates. Check out Sarina’s music on YouTube or BandCamp.
Suggested donation: $25 - $30 (if cost is a barrier, pay what you can). You can RSVP on Eventbrite choosing either the "Donate" option (pay with your credit card) or the "I'll donate via e-transfer or cash" option (e-transfers to sylvia@sylviahumble.ca).

Sarina Partridge is a musician, song-leader and educator in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She feels most alive when learning, creating and sharing songs, and enjoys singing with a wide variety of music projects - Eastern European and Yiddish song, old-time music, community song-leading... and everything in between. Sarina has traveled around the world to study with master folk singers, and has toured with the traveling ensemble Northern Harmony abroad and in the USA. She has a passion for connecting people with their own creativity and with community, and uses singing to help folks develop a sense of wonder for this wild world around us. Let’s sing!
“Singing is our birthright - we sing for joy, for connection, for expression. Singing is the language of grief and praise, wonder and wisdom; we sing the world we want to inhabit, and we sing to understand the world we live in now. We sing the songs of our ancestors, and we catch new songs from the air around us.”
To access the Bowen Park Amphitheatre (beside the duck pond), you can park at the main Bowen Complex (500 Bowen Rd.) near the outdoor pool and activity centre. Alternatively, there is also parking available off Wall Street, on the eastern edge of the park (the gravel trail is flat/ accessible). There is a very small parking lot beside the amphitheatre (please use only if mobility is a challenge). “I’ve sung with Sarina in groups large and small. She has a talent for making everyone feel like harmony singing is for them. The songs she presents and the atmosphere she creates always leave me feeling more connected and grounded than when I walked in the door. If you have a chance to experience Sarina as a song leader for yourself, take it.” - Emily P.G. Erickson
