A series of song circles at the beautifully resonant "Kin Hut" on Departure Bay Beach
Ginger and lemon tea will be served during a social break (option to visit the beach or the park outside)
Each "playshop" will include easy-to-learn songs on a theme (earth, rivers, peace, hope...) with simple harmonies, taught by ear
There are no "wrong notes", and lots of room for creativity and movement!
July 26 and August 23 are two-part events; the second half is April Laurie's "Sound Sculpting":
"We'll use structures and games to guide our time. Most of these are shaped from my own work, and the teachings of Rhiannon's Vocal River. We'll practice deep listening, soften our reactions, build off of what is happening around us. Begin to believe that creativity is limitless. How do I open up? How do I let go? Where do we begin? Do I have what it takes? Come experience answers to these questions, and be surprised by the soulful, silly, mysterious, and gorgeous sounds that will happen.
COST for each song circle (2-hour events):
$20-25
COST for July 26 and August 23 (3-hour events):
$35-50 for the whole afternoon (song circle AND sound sculpting)
or $20-25 for one half (song circle OR sound sculpting)
