A series of informal workshops / song circles at the beautifully resonant "Kin Hut" on Departure Bay Beach

In each "playshop", Sylvia will teach a set of accessible, harmony-rich songs on a theme (earth, rivers, peace, hope...). April Laurie will accompany us on percussion, and lead some vocal play.

Simple harmonies are learned by ear, with room for creativity and movement. There are no "wrong notes".

Ginger and lemon tea will be served during a social break

(option to visit the beach or the park outside)

**July 26 and August 23 are longer events:

First half - song circle with Sylvia;

Second half - April Laurie's "Sound Sculpting" vocal playshop:

"We'll use structures and games to guide our time. Most of these are shaped from my own work, and the teachings of Rhiannon's Vocal River. We'll practice deep listening, soften our reactions, build off of what is happening around us. Begin to believe that creativity is limitless.  How do I open up? How do I let go? Where do we begin? Come experience answers to these questions, and be surprised by the soulful, silly, mysterious, and gorgeous sounds that will happen."

(solo singing is optional; all voices welcome)

COST for each song circle (2-hour events):

$20-30

**COST for July 26 and August 23 (3-hour events):

$35-50 for the whole afternoon (song circle AND sound sculpting)

or $20-25 for one half (song circle OR sound sculpting)
