Raise and weave your voice in community, and sing songs of hope with us! * By donation * All voices welcome regardless of experience
Instead of a concert, at the end of each six-week season of my Humble Harmony community singing group, we have a BIG SING, where folks from my three groups in Nanaimo and Parksville come together and sing the songs we’ve been learning. All are welcome to join us in song; most of the songs are quick and easy to learn. While this is a participatory event and not a concert, listeners are welcome too.
Join us for harmony- and rhythm-rich songs of hope (our theme this season), from the community singing movement, Let It Be by The Beatles, The Rising by Bruce Springsteen, and Bambelela / Never Give Up from South Africa. April Laurie will lead some vocal play, and accompany us on percussion
RSVP is not necessary; there is plenty of space, and the more voices, the richer the experience!
All are welcome to bring something to share, if you’d like to stay for the potluck and socialize. We have access to a full kitchen. There is an elevator or stairs up to the second floor of the Legion where we’ll meet.
Here is our song list:
Bambelela (Never Give Up) - JL Kwane Memorial Church choir, South Africa.
Hope In The Day - Coco Love Alcorn
Let It Be - The Beatles (that’s my windy beach video)
I’m Goin’ Home on the Mornin’ Train - Lea Morris
Sing On - Sarina Partridge
Sing You Through The Storm - Sylvia Humble
Tending The Spark - Heather Houston
The Rising - Bruce Springsteen
We Shall Be Known - MaMuse
Humble Harmony is part of the Ubuntu Choirs Network which believes that singing together is a universal human birthright and can make the world a better place.
