11:00 am - Singing starts
12:30 pm- Potluck picnic (optional)
AND "round robin" - share a song if you'd like
Instead of a concert, each season of my Humble Harmony community singing group ends with a BIG SING, where folks from my three groups in Nanaimo and Parksville gather to share the songs we’ve been learning, and invite the community in to sing along with us. These uplifting songs are easy to learn by ear, with exciting layers of harmony and rhythm. While this is a participatory event, listeners are welcome too...but don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing)!
Join us for heart-opening songs of the earth (our theme this season), from the community singing movement. April Laurie will lead some vocal play, and accompany us on percussion.
All are welcome to bring something to share, if you’d like to stay for the potluck and socialize - bring plates and cutlery if you can, to reduce waste. We will sing rain or shine, under the picnic shelter (or in the sun)!
If you'd like to join us, please fill in your info. and I'll send you a reminder email before the event.
(RSVP is optional - there will be plenty of room!)
Here are some of the songs we'll sing:
A Song To Sing - Coco Love Alcorn
Earth My Body / Terra Mi Cuerpo
In Your Element - Ashley Johnson
May This Body Be A Bridge - Te Martin
Put Your Roots Down - Molly Hartwell
Song Of The Earth - Sarina Partridge
The Mother - Xavier Rudd
... and some short, easy songs and rounds...
